A colleague of mine was having problems connecting a Windows 7 machine with
the Exchange 2010 remote management tools installed to his production Exchange
environment. The error he was getting is displayed below.
My first troubleshooting step was to try and connect to a different Exchange
Server by right clicking the Microsoft Exchange On Premise and selecting a new
server. He informed me that one of the servers worked and the rest of them did
not. Upon further investigation we noticed the client and some of the servers
were running different versions of the Exchange Management Console (EMC).
However, one of the servers and client shared the same version and it still
would not connect. What Gives? Thanks to my colleague we now have the answer.
Exchange 2010 SP1 and Exchange 2010 SP1 Rollup 1 share the same version number.
The lessoned learned is, If you update the server update the
client. Thanks Joe!
